Responsible gambling at Ghostino

Gambling as entertainment, not income

Most people who open this page are checking in on themselves, not in crisis, and that's exactly the right time to look. Ghostino is built for entertainment – the games pay out, sometimes generously, but no betting product is a way to cover a bill or replace a wage. If any part of your play at Ghostino is being justified by money you need for something else, that's the line worth noticing.

When it stops being fun

The shift is usually gradual rather than sudden. Chasing a loss with a bigger stake, hiding the amount you've spent from people close to you, or feeling relief rather than enjoyment when a session ends are all common early signs.

  • Playing longer than you planned to, more than occasionally
  • Borrowing to fund a deposit, or dipping into money set aside for bills
  • Feeling irritable or anxious when you try to stop
  • Lying about how much time or money you've spent playing
  • Using gambling to escape stress, boredom or low mood

A short self-check

Answer these honestly rather than quickly:

  • Have you tried to cut back and found it harder than expected?
  • Have you spent more than you intended to in a single session more than once?
  • Have you missed a payment or a bill because money went on deposits instead?
  • Do you feel you need to keep it secret from a partner, family or friends?
  • Have you gambled to escape worry, sadness or an argument?
  • Have you chased losses with a larger stake to try to get back to even?

A "yes" to more than one is worth acting on – not as a diagnosis, but as a reason to use the tools below or speak to one of the organisations further down this page.

Limits you can set with us

We give you three practical controls, and each does a different job.

Deposit limits

You can cap how much goes into your account over a period you choose, so a bad night can't turn into a bad week by default.

Time limits

You can set a ceiling on how long you're logged in and playing, which is useful if losing track of time is the actual problem rather than the amount staked.

Self-exclusion

This closes your account for a fixed term of between six months and five years. It isn't reversible early, and that's deliberate – it removes the option to change your mind on a bad day.

National help lines

These organisations are independent of Ghostino and free to use.

  • GamCare – the National Gambling Helpline, 0808 8020 133, free and available 24/7
  • BeGambleAware – confidential advice and support tools
  • GamStop – free national self-exclusion covering licensed gambling sites
  • Gordon Moody – residential and online treatment programmes

Blocking software

Software such as Gamban or the free BetBlocker stops gambling sites loading on a device at all, which helps when willpower alone isn't holding.

Protecting minors

Ghostino is restricted to players aged 18+. If a phone, tablet or laptop is shared with anyone under that age, parental-control tools such as Net Nanny or Qustodio can block gambling sites from that device specifically, rather than relying on account settings alone.

Questions about any of these tools, or about setting a limit on your own account, can go to [email protected].

Gambling should be entertainment, not a chore.

You must be 18 or over (18+) to use this site. Support with gambling is free and confidential at BeGambleAware.org.
